The Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Connection Utility lets you easily manage your laptop connections to WiMAX networks. Connecting to WiMAX is simple, and the utility keeps track of available networks and can connect to them automatically. Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Software is completely configurable. The WiMAX adapter and connection can be easily turned off whenever necessary.
The Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Connection Utility runs on Microsoft Windows* XP, Windows Vista*, and Windows* 7.

The status area tells you about the status of the Intel® PROSet/Wireless WiMAX Connection Utility.
If your last connected network (preferred network) is available, it will be shown in the status area and you can connect to it. For example: <Network name> is available to connect. The signal quality is also listed. Click Connect to connect to it. Click Connect here for more information. If your preferred network is not available, a message will indicate this and you can search for it.
Click Details to view details of this network and connection.
If you are not connected to WiMAX, the utility will periodically search for your last-connected network. This is called your preferred network. The Search button is only present if your preferred network was not detected in the last search. To avoid waiting for an automatic, periodic search, click Search to perform an immediate search for your preferred network.
You can also click Stop Search to stop a search that is in progress. Note that this search for your preferred network is different from the Search for Networks button on the full window, which searches for all networks. See Searching for WiMAX Networks for more information.
